In this tutorial, I will show you how to install Plank on Manjaro 18.1.5 before it should begin in installation. This is a few about Plank.
What is Plank?
Plank is a simple dock application contain shortcuts of the apps. Similar apps like Plank is Cairo Dock and Latte Dock and many more.
Installing Plank
In Manjaro, start menu type add/remove software and type Plank then install it. After installation complete, type Plank on Manjaro start menu, and Plank should appear on the middle bottom of the screen. Drag the apps shortcut you want to add in the Plank Dock.
Configuring Plank
To change the Plank settings, open up terminal and type :
plank --preferences
You can adjust the setting in here, for example, changing the Theme, Positions, and Behaviour. Don’t forget to turn on the lock icons for preventing the Shortcut is dropping from the dock.
Autostart Plank every Startup
In Manjaro Start Menu, type Session and Startup then move to Application Autostart tab, click the add button. Fill the name “plank” and description “my plank,” in the command type “plank.” then hit OK. The Plank should be appearing in every Startup.
Removing the Shadow (For XFCE)
In XFCE, after installing Plank, there is a shadow above the plank.
To remove it, in Manjaro Start menu, type Window Manager Tweaks, move to Compositor tab, turn off Show shadows under dock windows.
