You know, the best place is Pinterest. I often open the Pinterest app or browse for inspiration for my design. All images found on other websites (such as Behance and Dribble) are included in Pinterest. Dribble and Behance are the best sources of inspiration, of course. However, I like how they combine on one platform. When I launch the Pinterest app on mobile or browse on the website, every piece of design inspiration appears.
I’m not a natural at coming up with original graphic design ideas, but I find inspiration on Pinterest and combine those ideas into my own art.
Have you ever read the book Steal Like an Artist by Austin Kleon? It beautifully captures the idea that creativity is often sparked by what we admire and absorb in our lives. I believe that everything we create is shaped by the inspirations we’ve encountered along the way. True originality, however, belongs to the One who created all things—Allah, subhanahu wa ta’ala. In the end, we are all just artists, borrowing and blending the beauty we find in the world.
